Payment terms

Payment is always on completion unless other terms have been agreed by Flawless Flooring in writing.

In some cases, materials must be paid for in advance – usually if the cost of material exceeds £300. This material will be delivered once payment has cleared. Please note that the homeowner is responsible for the safety of the materials while on site. Flawless Flooring cannot take responsibility for materials damaged whilst in the care of the homeowner.

Flawless Flooring will retain title to materials (laminated, engineered or hardwood flooring, paints, primers, sealers, DPM, leveling compounds, underlay, fixings, trims and skirting etc) until the balance is paid in full.

Flawless Flooring reserve the right to remove materials etc that remain unpaid and free access will be granted in order to do so.

Sub-floor preparation

Loose floorboards must be secured. Nails, tacks and staples must be removed. Carpets, underlay and gripper rods must be removed prior to the fitter’s arrival. All vinyl, carpet and laminate flooring must be removed by the property owner prior to the fitter’s arrival unless removal forms part of the fitting agreement and is clearly stated in the estimate provided. A flat fee of £100 per room has to be added to the invoice for any rooms that require additional preparation in order to allow fitting to commence

The condition of the sub-floor must be checked by the property owner prior to installation and any repairs that need to be made to the sub-floor are the responsibility of the property owner and need to be completed before fitting commences.

Flawless Flooring will install flooring on the assumption that the sub-floor has been checked and is deemed suitable to have a ‘new floor’ installed. Any faults occurring to the ‘new floor’ during or after installation due to the sub-floor’s poor condition are the responsibility of the homeowner. Flawless Flooring will not guarantee work or materials when the sub-floor is in poor condition.

All rooms should be wind and watertight. Flawless Flooring will install flooring on the assumption that the rooms are wind and watertight. Flawless Flooring do not accept responsibility for faults occurring to the ‘new floor’ due to water ingress.

Liability

It is recommended that the homeowner or family vacate the rooms or property while fitting is taking place. Flawless Flooring cannot accept responsibility for loss or injury to persons who remain in the property while installation is in progress.

All furniture, furnishings, ornaments, pictures and breakables should be removed from the rooms prior to arrival. Flawless Flooring cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to items that remain in the rooms during fitting. All items left in the rooms are done so at the owners risk.

While Flawless Flooring will do their utmost to ensure, cables, wires, plumbing and services are not damaged in the fitting process Flawless Flooring cannot take responsibility for services and cables etc if their exact position isn’t clearly marked.

A flat fee of £50 per room will be added to all invoices if furniture has to be removed by the fitter unless removal forms part of the fitting agreement and is clearly stated in the estimate provided.

Materials sourced by the customer. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure enough materials have been purchased to ensure the installation can be completed in the allotted time frame. In the event of the installation having to stop due to lack of materials, then all work and materials supplied by Flawless Flooring are to be paid in full. The first available additional fitting dates will then be given to complete the work. Any additional costs incurred by Flawless Flooring will be charged accordingly.

Natural products

Flawless Flooring cannot accept responsibility for squeaks in a new floor. Squeaks are the result of movement in the sub-floor and seasonal variations in moisture content.

Wooden flooring is a natural product and therefore subject to variations in colour, graining and size. Flawless Flooring cannot remove a board due to these naturally occurring characteristics once it has been installed. Specific fitting requirements must be made clear during the initial survey and will be included in the estimate if requested.

Installation

Flawless Flooring cannot alter the manner in which a floor is being installed once the installation process has started. The fitter’s decision is final on all matters relating to installation.

Additional rooms/fitting can be requested during the installation but will be treated as a separate agreement and costed separately.

All estimates will be sent out via e-mail when possible.

You may cancel fitting at any time. However, a 20% administration charge will be added for cancelations less than one week from the start date. Any materials and costs incurred by Flawless Flooring as a result of cancelling will also be charged. (Please note: some of our suppliers have a 50% re-stocking charge for materials being returned). Unfortunately, Flawless Flooring can not carry these costs and will need to be charged to the customer.

All estimates relate to materials and labour only. An estimate can be given for ‘completion time’ but does not form part of the fitting agreement. ‘Completion time’ is given to help the property owner plan other work around the floor fitting.
